FRC briefs Members of the LegCo Panel of Financial Affairs on its work progress and work plan under the new regime

On 4 May 2020, Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman and Ms Florence Wong, Acting CEO of Financial Reporting Council gave a briefing on FRC’s work progress (from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020) and work plan (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021) to Members of the LegCo Panel on Financial Affairs.

Speaking at the Panel, Dr Wong updated Panel Members of the accomplishments and latest developments of the FRC after its transformation to become the independent auditor regulator of Hong Kong on 1 October 2019. He conveyed deep appreciation to Members of the Legislative Council, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, the four funding parties of the FRC before the new regime (i.e. Companies Registry, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Securities and Futures Commission) as well as the Process Review Panel for their staunch support over the years, without which the FRC would not have become what it is today.
